CIA agent Kevin Pope (Chris Rock) is killed when a mission makes a turn for the worse. This is bad for the CIA because Pope was working undercover and they need to complete the mission. Luckily, they discover that Pope had a twin brother he never knew, Jake Hayes (also Chris Rock). The two were separated at birth and have led very different lives. Jake works the club scene in Jersey City—scalping tickets and making money from chess games. His girlfriend, Julie (Kerry Washington) has just about had enough with his immaturity and moves away. With some convincing, Hayes agrees to help the CIA. The CIA doesn't trust him, specifically Officer Gaylord Oakes (Anthony Hopkins) whose task it is to train him. Reluctantly, both agree to carry on with the mission since everything is riding on the fact that Hayes looks like Pope and can finish the job. Only time will tell if he’s able to succeed and prove to everyone he’s not the screw-up they think he is.
